3. How long should my necklace be?

Most women will find that a 16 inch chain fits like a choker, snug against the neck. If you are petite or especially slender, a 16 inch chain might hang down to your collarbone. Most necklaces start at 16 inches, and many are adjustable in case you need a smaller fit.
An 18 inch chain will fit the average woman well, and will dangle at the collarbone. For plus size women, this chain length will probably fit more like a choker. If you're looking for something with a little more breathing room, you can also select?a necklace that is 20, 22, 24, or 30 inches. Depending on your size, these chain lengths will hang between your collarbone and your sternum.

4. What is Rhodium?

Rhodium Plating is a protective coating for sterling silver and white gold jewelry, which helps to prevent the metals from tarnishing and scratching. The rhodium plating however, is not impervious to the effects of everyday wear and abrasion. To limit the wearing of the plating, one should avoid household cleaning, gardening, and other activities that may quickly destroy the rhodium plating, which will result in exposing the slightly yellow tint of the white gold underneath. Keep in mind that even talc, a compound found in many cosmetics, is known to have an abrasive effect on jewelry items.
If wear does occur, most jewelry can be re-plated with rhodium at a local jeweler for a minimal cost. The plating on pendants and earrings lasts longer than rings because they are less exposed to friction. Here are some tips for keeping your rhodium plated jewelry looking its best:
* Do not use any abrasive cloths for polishing.
* Do not use chemical cleaners.
* Clean only with mild soap and water.
Enjoy the beauty of rhodium plated jewelry, an affordable way to capture the platinum appeal.

7. What is 925 Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925. Fine silver (99.9% pure) is generally too soft for producing large functional objects; therefore, the silver is usually alloyed with copper to give it strength, while at the same time preserving the ductility and beauty of the precious metal.

8. Why does the silver turn yellow after a long period of time?

The silver tarnishes due to natural causes; therefore, it is important to keep silver jewelry in a separate compartment and try to keep them inside at a constant room temperature.

* Advice : In order to keep the silver from tarnishing, purchase a silver polisher, and clean it once every few weeks (your local jeweler will clean it for you as well).

Cubic zirconia (or CZ), the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), is a mineral that is widely synthesized for use as a diamond replacement. The synthesized material is hard, optically flawless and usually colorless, but may be made in a variety of different colors.

Because of its low cost, durability, and close visual likeness to diamond, synthetic cubic zirconia has remained the most gemologically and economically important diamond simulant since 1976. Its main competition as a synthetic gemstone is the more recently cultivated material, synthetic moissanite.
